Organisation Profile
Mindenegyüttmegy (MEGY) Association is a Hungarian NGO focusing on knowledge sharing, sustainability, and economic democracy, founded in 2017. We promote alternative economic models, such as community enterprise farms, eco-communities, and food box communities, providing educational programs that foster inclusive and sustainable lifestyles.
Core activities:
- Developing and demonstrating low-tech solutions for water, energy, and organic matter management
- Organising adult and youth education programs and hands-on workshops in permaculture, ecological construction, and community facilitation
- Organizing the Mover’s (Gyüttment) Festival with 150+ workshops, attracting over 1,000 participants annually
- Building networks connecting ecological knowledge holders with newcomers and enthusiasts in Hungary and Central/Eastern Europe and within GEN-Europe
- Operating a living learning centre (Cold Hill Shelter) demonstrating off-grid, sustainable living
Key themes: rural life, ecology, sustainable farming, community building, facilitation, traditional and innovative practices in balance, small-scale food production.
Additional strength: MEGY is an experienced ESC (European Solidarity Corps) host and lead organisation, providing structured support, mentoring, and community engagement for young volunteers. This experience strengthens our capacity to manage and support young participants effectively in international programs.
Education Activities and Experience
MEGY has over 10 years of experience in non-formal adult education, including:
- Weeklong courses on permaculture, community development, compost toilets, and other off-grid solutions (150+ participants annually)
- Yearlong training on community facilitation and leadership skills (20 participants annually)
- Co-training and hosting Permaculture Design Courses (PDC)
- Running self-awareness and personal development groups for festival volunteers and participants
- Demonstrating ecological and low-tech solutions at our living learning centre (Cold Hill Shelter)
- Education approach: Practical, hands-on learning combined with group facilitation and experiential education, empowering participants to implement sustainable solutions in real-life settings
- 2023-25: MEGY participated in KA2 Youth project with 4 other countries: Eco patrols 4 Environmental goals
- 2025-26: MEGY coordinates a KA210 adult project: Nourishing Wilderness – Introductory training on the role of wild plants for nutrition and ecosystems
- 2025-26: MEGY participates in a KA210 adult project: SusTech. A Community of Practice for Sustainable Technology in Europe
- 2025: Organizing the GEN-Gathering at Manas Garden, Hungary.
- 2026-27: MEGY coordinates a KA210 adult project: CORE: A learning framework for COmmunity-led, REgenerative, non-speculative and rural housing in Central and Eastern Europe
ESC experience (host and lead organisation)
MEGY is an experienced European Solidarity Corps (ESC) host and lead organisation. We host and coordinate:
- 3 group volunteering activities per year, and
- 3 long-term individual ESC volunteers per year.
We provide structured mentoring, learning support and community integration for international volunteers. This role has strengthened our organisational capacity in participant support, facilitation, safeguarding, learning processes and international coordination, which directly contributes to our quality as a sending organisation in KA153 Youth Workers Mobility projects.

- Key volunteers and staff members working with young people (18–30) in non-formal education contexts

- Starting or raising families, requiring practical and reliable solutions.
MEGY programs address both skill gaps and personal empowerment, enabling participants to implement sustainable lifestyle changes.
Key Staff and Competences
Balázs Tőgyi – Ecological solutions expert (since 2012); specializes in low-tech systems (compost toilets, off-grid energy, permaculture); festival construction and training organiser.
Miklós Tóth – Community facilitator and network weaver, leader of the Association; PDC instructor; experience in international collaboration, NGO knowledge platforms, and non-formal education.
Maria Forrai – Event organizer: worked until 2022, as a journalist, radio reporter, and editor. Since 2018, she has been part of the communication team of the Mover’s Festival, and since 2021 she has been serving as the festival’s main organizer.
Additional team members (12 people in total): carpenter, electrical engineer, herbalist, mental health professional, mindfulness specialist, forester, IT specialist, community facilitator, youth educator and other experts supporting ecological and community practices.
